Jonas Braukmann
Brot für die Augen
Fotokünstler Jonas Braukmann hat über mehrere Jahre sein täglich’ Brot in einem täglich’ Bild dokumentiert. Nahezu 3000 Fotos zeigen knackige Würstchen, angefressenes Kleingebäck, farbenfrohe Shakes und: immer wieder Nudeln.
Eine üppige Bilderportion, die fundamentale Fragen berührt wie: „Ist die deutsche Küche tatsächlich so kontrastarm?“ und „Wer hätte gedacht, dass unsere Nahrung so ocker ist?“ Die im Teller-Stil geblitzte Schnappschuss- kulinarik macht hin und wieder froh, dass Zähne nicht sehen können.
Und doch: Anders als hochgeföhnte Spaghetti Bolognese auf den bebilderten Speisekarten
der Touristenrestaurants lockt Braukmanns Bilderbuffet den kulinarischen Voyeur mit Geschichten aus dem Hauptgang des Lebens. Dem frugalen Esstrieb hier folgt das gediegene Katerfrühstück dort, mit der opulenten Orgie als Sahnehäubchen. Das weckt mehr Emotionen, als das professionellste Hochglanz Food Styling. Indem sie vom Auge direkt in den Bauch fährt, macht uns die Ausstellung zu lustvollen Zeugen einer profanen Eucharistie, in der sich jenseits des Einzelbildes jemand zeigt, wie er is(s)t.
